I've read a lot about that problem and how to apply some tricks to be able to get Comodo in the context menu but wanted first your opinions and maybe a real solution if possible. XYplorer is a 32bit application, but should be 64bit in a near future. I know that CIS is in the 64bit folder but can't remember if Avast was too, I guess not. My main problem right now is that Comodo options are missing in the context menu of the great piece of software that is XYplorer (advanced Windows Explorer). I will make some suggestions in a near future when time and mind permit. This is all fine and good, but as someone who is usually working with the files directly in XYplorer (my Windows file manager of choice), I figured it was more efficient to trigger it from within the app. Of course I'm missing some functionalities but not much. Normally, you would opn Word, navigate to each fle in turn and trigger the compare. Haven't done a plethora of tests yet but I feel safe and secured.
You know what - you know how when you get a crash there's a message about it is sending a report to MS? I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get individual 'fixes' back to our individual machines because of those reports.Hi, I've been using Avast antivirus with Comodo firewall for years but decided, a few days ago, to give CIS a try and so far it looks pretty good. So my advice for what it is worth, if anything, would be to check your MS updates is all I can think of. I know I've got four machines here all with win10 and all of which have their own peculiarities and installing and running an app on one machine can lead to different behaviour to that which you get when it's on another machine. It looks to me like no two of us have the same Win10 installation. When I first installed it I'd get lockups and lack of sound and all kinds of screw ups just the same as I did when I was using the latest version.
I resize, I move it around the screen, I pause, restart, change video brightness etc., all the things that (perhaps) used to cause the lockups before.

I'd guess it was a MS update that did it.Ĭertainly seems to be fixed. Until someone comes up with an answer for me. I suspect this version of win10 has broken things. I'm using files from Īnother edit: I tried 2.2.4 and 2.2.2 and they seemed perhaps to run alright but the video brightness control wouldn't work and I need it on this old monitor I've got so they're no good.

Just keep it loaded on your USB stick along with all your other useful portable apps. That means you dont need to worry about it not being available on other computers you have to use during the day. But what makes it so good Firstly, its portable.

I've always had troubles with win10 on this board, this machine, and I've done three complete new installs on new hard drives because of that over the last two years.īut through them all, right up to now, VLC has run okay. I don't think hardware because VLC ran without problems for years on this board.
